Begin by preparing the olive salad. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped marinated olives, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dried oregano, and black pepper. Stir well and set aside to let the flavors meld for at least 30 minutes.

While the olive salad is marinating, prepare the bread. Slice the round loaf in half horizontally, creating a top and bottom.

Drizzle the inside of each half of the bread with a little extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, ensuring it's evenly coated.

Layer the bottom half of the bread with half of the olive salad. Distribute it evenly to cover the bread fully.

Next, start layering the meats – first, add a layer of salami, then a layer of mortadella. Make sure to cover the entire surface for maximum flavor.

Add a layer of provolone cheese on top of the meats, allowing it to cascade slightly over the edges.

If desired, add slices of roasted red pepper for an added layer of flavor.

Top the sandwich with the remaining olive salad and cover with the top half of the bread. Press down gently to compact the sandwich.

Wrap the Muffuletta tightly in plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. This helps the flavors blend beautifully.

When ready to serve, unwrap the sandwich and slice into wedges. If using, garnish with fresh arugula for a pop of color and freshness.
