2 slices of whole-grain bread

2 slices of Gruyère cheese (or your favorite melting cheese)

1 ripe banana, sliced

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Salt to taste

Begin by spreading butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. The butter will create a golden, crispy exterior when grilled.

    On the unbuttered side of one slice of bread, layer one slice of Gruyère cheese.

      On top of the cheese, arrange the banana slices evenly. Drizzle the honey over the bananas, and if desired, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon for added warmth and flavor.

        Top the bananas with the second slice of Gruyère cheese and place the remaining slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.

          Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the sandwich in the skillet.

            Grill for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula and grill the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese has melted and the bread is golden brown.

              Once done, remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing it in half.
